Vengras:
This world is covered with deserts, temperate plains, strange half-fungal/half plant forests and thick, slimy oceans. There is a breathable, terra-style atmosphere here. The vegetation of this planet is something like a cross between fungal and more traditional plantlife. The climate ranges from tropical near the equator to temperate in the middle latitudes and cold, barren, desert land at the poles.
Millions of common ameboids live on this world. They are organized into everything from small nomadic tribes to villages, large city-states and nations. This is one of the rare ameboid worlds where the ameboid population uses space travel. There are several nations of common ameboids who use it, and several spaceports in their nations.
Barren wastelands of dirt and rock cover the polar regions of this world. There is a sizable population of desert ameboids in these lands. They live on the surface and in sprawling networks of caverns that lay beneath the deserts and wastelands. They tend to be primitive and very war-like, and rarely leave their homelands. From time to time mercenaries of their race who can get along with other races will spend time in the nations and lands of the common ameboids, though. The average population of desert ameboids is usually equal to about a tenth of the common ameboid population.
After the ameboids, vegras are the third most common sentient species on this world. Their population is equal to around half the desert ameboid population or a twentieth of the common ameboid population. They usually to live in the same lands the desert ameboids live in and the more temperate lands that border the polar wastes. They are primitive and even more warlike than the desert ameboids. They rarely survive for long in the lands of the common ameboids. The common ameboids, though they are not as warlike, still have better weaponry and defenses. Bands of vegras that threaten the settlements of common ameboids are quickly hunted down and killed. Small bands still live scattered all throughout the common ameboid lands, though, in the wildest, least civilized areas. These bands are very rare. Most of the vegra population is near or at the planet's poles.
Vast expanses of giant, glowing fungus cover some areas of this world. Tiny populations of sentient races like fungoids, snail men, shleekmoks, and shambling mounds live in these areas. None of these races are very advanced, and some live like animals. The others live at a tribal level or make small villages. The ameboids rarely bother them, and leave them alone as much as possible.
The oceans of this world are smaller than most terraworld oceans, and they are very thick and slimy. Though they are mainly made of water, there are vast numbers of bacteria, slime and other microscopic life forms in them, This makes the water thick, like runny, clear jelly. Deadly slimes and related life forms often live in the oceans or along their coasts.
There are some regions of this planet that are called "mud seas". These are not seas of water. They are, like their name says, vast expanses of mud. Some of them are as large as a small ocean or giant lake. Many of them lie along the coasts of real oceans, replacing the beaches. They are always smooth, slimy expanses of ooze. Strange life grows on and in them, including multi-colored microbial mats that cover their surfaces, brightly colored molds, slimes, clear worms and tiny oozes, and large deadly slimes, oozes and puddings. There are a few small colonies of intelligent yug-suhg from the planet Mire beneath some of these mud seas. They do not like how bright the sun of Vengras is, so they only live in the deepest mud seas, far, far down, deep beneath the surface. Portals to the para-elemental plane of ooze can often be found beneath the surface of these mud flats.
