Evendar:
This planet is a fey elven terra world, similar to most terra worlds except it is dominated by elves and sylvan creatures. It is the homeworld of a large elven space force that dominates this section of the Dragon Galaxy. It has one known moon, named Dunatis. A larger than normal portion of the planet's land mass is mountainous and cold, because the mountains here are unusually high and wide, but all of the temperate and alpine portions of this world are dominated by elves. Most of the forests here are sylvan fey lands. Many of the sea elven nations in the oceans of this world are fey lands, too.
Evendar has one large continent and some smaller landmasses. Almost all of the land mass that is not far above the tree-line is covered by huge, well-cared for elven forests, both temperate and alpine. The areas that are not part of the elven-dominated lands consist of frozen wastes, rugged, snow-covered mountains or thickly overgrown forests of thickets and thorn trees. Elves and other sylvan creatures live in the tended forests, and small tribes of creatures such as desert ameboids and vegras live in the untended lands. There are also populations of kubarika in the elven cities that serve as spaceports as well as in kubarika colonies that are scattered throughout the elven forests. The occasional
bionoid can also be found, usually living in remote, very isolated places.
All of the forests on this world have their own collective consciousnesses and minds, and can be communicated with by the elves and other sylvan races. The forests are considered the dominant life form here. Many of the trees and various plant life that makes up these forests is also unnaturally intelligent. The lands of this world are defined by the forest one is in, and the forest one is in is defined by the intelligent mind of that particular forest and the land it covers. The tended, sylvan forests are benevolent and peaceful, but can be hostile to outsiders. The wild, untended forests tend to be hostile and angry, and often have unnatural natures. For example, some wild forests are one massive thorn briar thousands of feet tall and dozens of miles wide in every direction. Others are thick, malevolent swamps, or patches of giant, toxic fungi.
Evendar is considered to be a pure elven homeworld by the elves, and no other space faring races are allowed to land there (except the kubarika that are mentioned above). Many elves from other worlds come to Evendar when they get old, to live out their final days, and the planet is considered a capital world of sorts by elves throughout the head of the Dragon Galaxy. All types of elves live here, including mountain elves (grey elves), high elves, common sylvan elves, wood elves, arctic elves, wild elves and sea elves, to name just a few varieties.
Evendar maintains and supports the three elven space fleets of Dravspace, and many other fleets that are based in other star systems. More elves from Evendar than any other world join the elven space fleets. As a matter of fact, in rare times when the space fleet is low on manpower the elves of Evendar conscript elves from their own planet and certain other colonies they have direct control over, but not from any other worlds. These other worlds are places like Dravingas, which Evendar has no official control over. Many of the elves on that planet are not even aware of space travel, nor would they care about it if they knew. Some of the more sophisticated golden elf and gray elf clans on Drav are aware, however, and do send elves to serve, but these clans are small and very rare, and pale in comparison to the population of Evendar. These elves go to Evendar when they are old and feel it is time to move on, too. Most other Dravan elves stay there until they die or go to the fey lands when they become extremely old.
The a large fleet of spacefaring elves is stationed around Evendar, with it's main base of operations on Evendar's only moon, Dunatis. It's sole responsibility is to guard Evendar and to patrol the space immediately around it. All space faring races who wish to trade with Evendar must do their trade on the moon, with elven merchant ships taking the goods from the moon to Evendar's surface. No one who is not an elf is allowed to go to the planet, barring very special circumstances, and anyone who tries to set down on the surface on their own is hunted by the First Elven Fleet and imprisoned for life on Drysor (see below) if they are caught. It is also said that a magical field of some sort covers the planet, aiding the space fleet in this task, but details of this field -- if it exists at all -- are sketchy and a well kept secret.
Since many elves do not live in cities, and live spread out among the countryside, there are few cities on this world. The few cities that do exist are grey elf and high elf cities, or large sea elf cities in the shallower waters of the planet's ocean. Most of the high elf cities are around a large inland sea in the center of the main continent, near Evendar's northern pole, and most of the grey elf cities are in the mountains that surround that inland sea. The world's main spaceports are on the coasts of the inland sea or on the shores of the ocean to the southeast of there. The largest sea elf settlements are in the shallow seas to the southeast of the inland sea, where the spaceports are, too. Those shallow oceans are full of sea elves.
