The information here has been collected and compiled by various sages and scholars in the Wyrm's Head region of the Dragon Galaxy. Much is missing and waiting to be filled in. The scholars are always updating these files, so as new areas are explored and details about them are recorded, these details will be added here.
The Dragon Galaxy is a small spherical galaxy. It is also known by other names like "The Shining Wyrm", "The Dragon's Egg" or "The Constellation Wyrm". From normal space it looks like a round ball of stars. The stars are clustered closely together in the center of the sphere and thin out toward its edges.
There is no visible pattern in the arrangement of the stars other than the way they thin out away from the center of the galaxy. However, when one enters Aether Space some of the stars seem to shift their locations. The stars around the edges of the galaxy do not move, but the systems in the center of the galaxy seem to shift and rearrange themselves into the shape of a dragon with a snake-like body. Aether Flows are thin and randomly change at the edges of the galaxy but are thick and bright in the center of the sphere. They flow between the systems that create the shape of the dragon, and fill in the dragon's form.
The Dragon Galaxy is divided into three main areas and its core is divided into several subsections.
The Outer Zone, Sometimes Called The Shell or The Egg Shell
The outer zone star systems are feared and avoided by most space travelers. This zone is the area that makes up the "shell" off the egg that is the Dragon Galaxy. Its stars are at or near the outer edge of the spherical galaxy, and filling the area just inside the edge.
Middle Zone, Sometimes Called The Inner Shell or The Yolk
This area is between the outer zone systems and the central systems. The aether flows here are thin and transient, like in the outer zone, but they are predictable. They disappear and reform periodically. If one knows the pattern of a particular flow, one can determine when it will appear and vanish, and how fast it will carry a ship along its flow.
The Core Systems, Also Called The Wyrm or The Dragon
This is the part of the Dragon Galaxy that changes when one enters Aether Space. In Normal Space it just appears to be a densely packed core of stars, but in Aether Space the star systems appear to shift location and arrange themselves into the shape of a dragon.
Stellar clusters and groups are seperate stellar spheres that float very close together in the aether.
Binaries, trinaries and quadraries are single stellar spheres that contain several star systems. There are usually seperate planetary systems orbiting each primary body or star.
Any planetoids (size A or B worlds) listed here are special, and different from most planetoids for some reason. Most planetoids are unknown, unexplored or unremarkable, and are not listed here.
