This timeline was made in the year 475 AtC, by Elefarthian, a Historical Scholar from the Grey Elven Tower of Ennallithris, on King's Isle, in the Dragon's Vale Archipellago, and is accurate to the best of his knowledge. Events after 475 AtC have been added as they occur by Elefarthian or his assistants, and older events have been modified or added as more has been learned about them.

The letters "AtC" stand for "after the crowning", which refers to the crowning of the first Emperor of the Dragon's Vale Archipellago. Dates from before the crowning have the letters "BtC" with them.

'Ages' are the longest time segments, lasting billions of years, 'Eras' are closer to the millions range, and Periods are thousands of years long; 'Time' is generic term that has no standard duration

0. AGE BEFORE AGES, AKA AGE OF CHAOS (7 Billion Years Before the Present or Older)
Drav and the other planets were first formed and became elemental proto-planets during this age. The sun was initially a massive vortex to the elemental plane of energy surrounded by a sphere of radiant energy, and later vortices to the plane of fire opened up and the fire mixed with the radiant energy to create the fire world, Mintakos. Most of the planets began as vortices to the plane of air and later other vortices opened and added more elements to the mixture. Except for Nyctox, and Drav, that is. Nyctox planet began as a small vortex to the negative energy plane, and later air vortices opened up and mixed with the negative energy. Drav began as two complimentary vortices, one to the positive plane and the other to the negative plane. Other vortices later formed between and around these two vortices and made the planet.

Major Events

- Stellar shell was created or appeared (how and when this happened is still a matter of theory)

- A massive vortex to elemental plane of energy opens up in the center of the stellar shell, creating the sun, Mintakos

- Vortices, mainly to the plane of air, then earth, fire, and water, open up, creating the proto-planets

(See also The Formation of Star Systems and The Formation of Dravingas)

1. AGE OF THE ANCIENTS - FIRST AGE (7 to 5 Billion Years Before the Present)
Drav is a formless ball of fire, lava, mud and earth with small regions of pure elements during most of this age. The only things that even resemble life are elemental beings and slimes that came out of the elemental vortices Drav formed from.

Major Events

- Arrival of pre-elders via space, planetary evolution of Kappae is sped up. The exact nature of the pre-elders is largely unknown, but it is believed that they were part of a larger race that had split into several factions which were warring with each other. One faction made it to Dravspace, a star system that was very isolated and far from all the other factions. The pre-elders did not want war any more, so they hid in Dravspace, and sped up the evolution of at least one, possibly more, of it's planets so that they could live there in peace.

- Arrival of pre-kentarals via space and their crashlanding on Mishtine. It is believed that the pre-kentarals were illithids or relatives of illithids, and they attempted to invade Kappae, the main pre-elder homeworld. The pre-elders defeated them, but some of the pre-kentaral ships crashed on Mishtine. Most races would have died, but the pre-kentarals possessed the ability to magically or psionically protect and rebuild their bodies, adapting them to the environment of Mishtine. They adapted, but they no longer possessed the ability to go into space, and they became planet-bound.

- Kentarals evolve, and learn how to move from planet to planet via planar travel, and later via spell propulsion. The kentarals make an empire that flourishes for about 7,000 years, and immediately they began attacking the Elders, starting the Edler War.

- The Edler War (elders vs. kentarals) ends, Myrose is frozen solid, and all kentaral colonies in Dravspace are wiped out. Only a few lingering kingdoms on Mishtine and other planes of existence remain. During the Elder War the pre-elders completely evolved into the elders, and then retreated from the dimensions and universe that we know.

- Last organized kentaral kingdom on Mishtine devolves into completely lawless barbarism

2. AGE OF DARKNESS - SECOND AGE (5 to 3 Billion Years Before the Present)
During this age Drav is a ball of molten earth with patches of solid crust floating on it, mixed with boiling, muddy seas of water. Very primitive, yet hardy, single celled life, slimes and oozes live in the muddy seas and patches of solid crust. Many of the cells landed there inside comets and asteroids that hit the planet and others evolved in the seas and mud.

Major Events

- The world-wrecker wars begin outside of Dravspace. No one now is really sure what races were involved in this war, but there are vague records of the war in ancient ruins through out the Dragon Galaxy. It is believed that the planets in Rockspace were destroyed at this time, and many sages assume it was because of this war and not because of a natural disaster or the Illithid War, which only reached the Dragon Galaxy billions of years later.

- A rain of asteroids, meteors and comets fell down on Drav for the first half a billion years of this age. As the pure elements of Drav and the other planets started to mix and leave their pristine elemental states, trillions and trillions of smaller bodies also did the same thing throughout the stellar sphere. Most of these smaller bodies became asteroids and comets. The ones close to large planetary bodies were swept up as those bodies passed, raining down on them until they were cleared away.

- Very simple single celled life and primitive viruses formed inside some of the asteroids and comets before they crashed into Drav, and some of it survived the impacts. More formed on Drav in boiling seas of mud and other regions where conditions were right. Where the viruses and life from the asteroids and comets was very simple and in many cases not complex enough to be considered true life, the life that formed on the planet was more complex and deserving of the title. The planetary life used chemicals and RNA/DNA that rained down from space to form, however, so it was still dependant on the space debris. Slightly more complicated oozes and slimes also formed from the more primitive ones that had come out of the elemental vortices during the elemental state of the world. All of these life forms were constantly being killed and destroyed by the chaotic, hostile conditions of the planet, but some survived and more were always forming or falling from the sky. The heavy formation of new life stopped only after the heavy asteroid/comet bombardment stopped around 4.3 billion years before the present. However, life formation continues in very muddy, volcanic regions of the planet to the present day, although on a very small, almost undetectable scale. It still falls from the sky inside meteors and comets occasionally, and survives, but this is even rarer.

3. AGE OF DEMONS - THIRD AGE (3 to 1 Billion Years Before the Present)
During most of this age the earthen crust of Drav was partially formed and solid, but it was constantly shifting and changing, forming then melting and later reforming. Deep, vast seas of lava were commonplace, as were vast seas of steaming, churning water.

During this age the mystics arrived on Drav via planer travel to study the wild magic forces that ran between the positive and negative energy vortices that still existed at the poles of Drav. These vortices were phased out from the main level of the prime plane and undetectable to most races, but the mystics could detect them. They built cities protected by enormous magical bubbles that floated on and in the chaoticly shifting crust and turblent seas of the planet. They then opened portals to many of the worlds of Dravspace, so that they could explore them, and eventually they explored the world of Mishtine. The explorers who went there returned with guests - kentarl emmisaries - who proceeded to magically enslave the mystics and bend them to their will. The kentarals forced the mystics to build gateways to layers of Hell where the kentarals used to have kingdoms, but the mystics made a mistake and did not compensate correctly for the wild magics on Drav. The gateways connected to the abyss rather than hell. Demons poured forth, slaughtering mystics and kentarals alike. The attack broke the kentaral's control over the mystics. The mystics then fled to other planes, leaving the surviving kentarls on Drav to the mercy of the demons, who savaged them.

After this, the elders and several families of dragons came to Drav, to kill off the demons and free the planet from their hold. A massive war ensued, with the dragon-elder armies defeating the demons. The elders then left, but the dragons remained to colonize the planet and make it their home.

Major Events

- A race named the hunters is believed to have used Dravspace as a hunting ground. According to legends, the hunters liked the semi-solid, highly volcanic state of most of the planets in Dravspace at this time. They felt these kinds of planets were the ideal hunting grounds, full of danger and challenge. These same legends say that the hunters captured very hardy, vicious races of creatures, such as the ka (face eaters), and released them on these planets and encouraged them to reproduce. Once the hunters felt their prey were abundant enough, they began to hunt them, for fun. In this way some ancient, horrific races became introduced into dravspace. Later, the hunters apparently became bored of Dravspace, died off, or moved on for other reasons, because no known hunter has ever been encountered. None know what they looked like besides that they were humanoids and they had snake-like appendages growing from their heads or faces (we know this because of ancient, time worn carvings found on some ka-infested asteroids).

- Arrival of the mystics on Drav via planar travel. They came to study wild magic that raged over Drav, flowing from a massive vortex to the positive plane at the north pole of the planet and down to a vortex to the negative plane that at the south pole. The mystics built cities covered in magical bubbles, with complete climate control and environmental stabilization. Inside the magical spheres majestic cities rose up to the sky, outside volcanos erupted, seas of lava boiled and earthquakes raged. Eventually the mystics discovered old kentaral ruins on Drav, and became curious. They then opened up exploratory gateways to the planet Mishtine, where the remnants of the kentarls still lived. They made contact with the kentarals, but the kentarals charmed them. The kentarals then used the mystics to recreate portals to the kentaral's old kingdoms in the planes of Hell, but the mystics' magic went wrong, and the gateways opened up into the Abyss instead. The gateways were huge and could not be closed, so hordes of demons poured forth from them and overran the mystics. Most of the mystics fled Drav via other gateways and dimensional travel, and those that did not flee were killed by the demons.

- The coming of the Ferrackarl, Chromal, Gemal and Continarl dragons on Drav via both planar travel and flying through space. A group of deities had future plans for the planet Drav and for the entire star system, and they were not pleased when the world became completely overran with demons. They called upon the elders and the dragons from deeper in the Dragon Galaxy, from the Dragon's Heart and the surrounding region. They sent these races to Drav to battle the demons and reclaim the planet.

- The Demon War lasts for 3 million years, and ends with the defeat of the demons by the dragons and elders and the destruction of all the remaining mystic-built gateways. The elders then disappeared, but the dragons remained on Drav, making it into a dragon protectorate.

4. METAL AGE - FOURTH AGE (1 Billion Years Before the Present to the Present)

DRAGON ERA (1 Billion Years Before the Present to 250,000,000 BtC)
Drav was still a volcanic wasteland with seas of molten lava and seas of poison water during this era, but the shifting of the crust had slowed and the solid earth was more stable and calm. Landmasses formed and did not melt back into the lava. Gradually the lava seas dried up and became smaller, eventually disappearing entirely, leaving behind a world of volcanoes, rock and mountains, with no vegetation. The churning, boiling seas of water slowly cooled and settled into more permanent boundaries, but remained dark and devoid of any life other than single celled organisms or slimes and oozes. The single-celled life had evolved long ago when liquid water formed, as they do on many worlds, around 4.8 billion years BtC, and the slimes had come from elemental vortices as the planet was forming.

Massive, ancient dragons ruled this world, with the Ferrackarl family dominating them all because of it's organization and the size and power of it's members. Later, a civil war that spanned all the worlds they lived upon wracked the Ferrackarl family. Other dragon families (mainly gemals and chromarls) were involved in the war as well, but to a lesser degree. This war was between the supporters of Dravellothor, the ruler of the Ferrackarls, and several Ferrackarl species that rebelled against the old way.

During the war the Mallorei were asked to come to Drav to aid Dravellothor's side. They were of assistance in the war, but could not turn the tide. Many Mallorei stayed on Drav after the war and made colonies there. During this war elves also visited Drav for the first time, coming from the stars. They knew strange magics, and Dravellothor had his people study it so that they could use it in the battle against the rebels. The Shigarls were originally several species considered part of the Ferrackarls, but they showed a special affinity for the sylvan magics the elves taught. They became very adept at this magic, and eventually this knowledge altered them, making them different enough to become a seperate group of dragons from the Ferrackarls.

With the aid of the newly emerging Shigarl family, the Ferrackarl side won, and the rebels on Drav were exhiled or slain. It is rumored that the rebels won on other worlds, but not on Drav.

Major Events

- Dwarves appear on Drav for the first time. Their legends say that they were created when their deities breathed life into stone. There is no evidence that these dwarves could travel through space, and they have appeared on many worlds at around this stage in the worlds' evolutions, so the truth of their legends is likely. Shortly after the first dwarves appeared some left over demons that were not killed in the Demon War capture some of these dwarves and twist them with evil, changing them into the first goblins to appear on Drav.

- The Ferrackarl Civil War breaks out on Drav and many other worlds simultaneously. This war is known as the Metal War or Iron War, and it lasts fifty million years. During this war parts of the planet are alternately remelted or frozen in sheets of ice that span the globe, as the dragons use powerful elemental magic on each other. The creation of strange new forms of life is triggered in the oceans as a side effect of the magics. These are the first multi-celled life forms. The war is between the Ferrackarls who support the Supreme Dragon Leader on one side and those who want to break away and create their own groups on the other side. There is a Supreme Dragon Leader on each world the Ferrackarls live on, and legends say there is one Supreme Dragon Leader over all of these leaders somewhere, on some world on some plane of existence. The Supreme Dragon Leader on Drav is named Dravellothor.

- The Illithid War breaks out in the Dragon Galaxy, outside Dravspace. The illithid empire had grown to it's zenith at this time, but at its height its thralls rebelled, and became the githyanki, githzeri, and gith pirates. Their rebellion sparked the war, which then spread over vast expanses of many alternate universes and many planes of existence. This war and the gradual collapse of the illithid empire lasted millions and millions of years, and only reached the Dragon Galaxy towards the very end of the war. The elves fled to Dravpsace to get away from the illithids and later flew from Dravspace with revigorated armies to finish off the illithid presence in the Dragon Galaxy (these final stages mainly all happened during the next age, the Modern Age).

- Arrival of the Mallorei on Drav from the same place many of the current dragons came from (Dragonspace in the heart of the Constellation Wyrm). The deities had become concerned that the Metal War was threatening the dragon's guardianship over Drav, and so the Mallorei were sent to help Dravellothor and his side win the war.

- The elves come to Drav for the first time, and the Shigarls begin to branch off of from the Ferrackarls and become a new family. During the most heated portion of the Illithid War that was fought in the Dragon Galaxy, several bands of elves fleeing from Illithid War parties landed on Drav and begged the dragons for shelter. It was given. The Metal War was still raging, and the Mallorei had tipped the balance on Drav slightly in favor of Dravellothor's side, but the war was still millenia away from ending. A faction of the Ferrackarl dragon family that was loyal to Dravellothor developed a special affinity for the elves. This group later became a seperate family, the Shigarls. The Shigarls excelled at magics the elves taught them, and they were able to tip the scales and win the Metal War on Drav, with Dravellothor's side becoming the victors.

TIME OF FORMING, AKA SYLVAN ERA, AKA THE GREENING (250,000,000 BtC to 91,000 BtC)
==================================================================================
Out of gratitude for their aid during the Metal War, the elves are allowed to settle and terraform Drav during this time. Drav is transformed into a traditional terra world, as sea elves tend the the oceans and forest elves start planting the wildernesses that grow to cover the planet.

Major Events

250,000,000 BtC
With the end of the Metal War, an agreement is made with the elves allowing them to colonize Evendar and to a lesser degree Dravosse, and to alter many of the other worlds of Dravspace and turn them into terra-worlds with fey lands. The elves had been refugees, forced from star system to star system by the illithids, and now they were looking for a system where there were no illithids so they could have peace. There seemed to be no major illithid presence in Dravspace, presumably because of the elders and the dragons, so it was ideal. The dragons had planned to keep Drav a barren lifeless world that was inhabited only by dragons, dwarves, goblins and whatever things lived in the seas. They changed their plan and decided to allow the elves to make it a living terra world instead, because elves need to be surrounded by plants to survive. Since most dragons do not care whether there are or are not plants, it was not an issue to them.

250,000,000 - 150,000,000 BtC
'The Greening.' During this time the living seas and forests were formed. With the end of the Metal War, the dragons were no longer organized enough to cast the elemental magics they had used earlier to freeze or melt parts of the planet. They also made an agreement with the elves to never use the powerful magic on Drav even if they become organized enough, because it would radically alter the slyvan plan the elves wanted to use. This is also the time of the coming of other demihuman and sylvan races via creation by their gods and/or magical spontaneous formation. As the planet starts to transform from an earthy void world into a terra world under the elven/sylvan magic, the conditions required by those other races became present.

The elves began by growing simple gardens in the shallow waters and along the coasts. They then used the life energies of these gardens to create and later amplify their magic. The sea elves also introduced fish into the oceans at this time. Other life forms like giant shrimp, mollusks and arthropods where already present in the oceans. This life had evolved on its own during the dragon wars, as a side effect of the powerful dragon magics. When the elves started to introduce more complex plant life and fish this triggered a competetive evolutionary race, and many new forms of life evolved. The dragons also brought a few life forms of their own from other worlds where dragons ruled and released them into the ecosystems the elves were creating. These were mostly amphibians, reptilians and dinosaurs, with a scattering of reptomammals and enchanted creatures.

150,000,000 BtC
The elven civil war begins. It is fought on this and many other worlds simultaneously, and ends in the creation of the subterranean dark elf races. The major evil goblinoid races, with the exception of goblins themselves, are created at this time, too. The goblins were made before the Metal War, after dwarves were first created from stone by their deities. Demons captured the newly made dwarves and twisted them, creating goblins. Now, the same thing happens with elves, gnomes, and the other new races on Drav. Orcs are made by twisting and reshaping elves, kobolds are made from gnomes, and trolls from treants.

149,900,000 BtC
Most of the evil elves were now driven from the surface of Drav, though many still existed underneath the ground and on other worlds in the star system.

==================================================================================
TIME OF MAN - CURRENT ERA (91,000 BtC to current time)
==================================================================================

--------Human Invasion/Human Wars (91,000 BtC to 73,100 BtC)--------

This period began when Dravellothor went to the Abyss to destroy a portion of the illithid empire, 90,000 years before the crowning of the first Emperor of Dragon's Vale. The flow of time in the abyss is very chaotic, and what seems like a day spent there can equal anywhere from a second in the prime plane to millions of years. Two hundred years later Dravellothor had still not returned from the Abyss, so when the humans began dropping from the skies above Drav in strange flying cities, Dravellothor was not there to battle them. There were tens of thousands of other massive dragons, however. But the human magic, something they called 'technology' was so great that these dragons were cut down and slaughtered. In about 500 years the humans had the dragons exterminated, except for a few thousand that hid themselves magically or hibernated deep underground. Many dragons took on human form and lived disguised among man during the years to follow.

This period lasted for several thousand years, but was ended when a massive war broke out with elves from the other planets of the star system. The magics used in this war opened up a return gateway from the abyss, and Dravellothor emerged through this gateway. This marked the end of the human occupation, and the end of the human war period in Drav's history.

Major Events

91,000 BtC
An illithid system eater teleports into what is now Deathspace. They use it as a base of operations to wage war on the Dragon Galaxy. War breaks out between the elven space fleets centered at Evendar and the illithid space fleets, who have conquered several neogi, beholder, and grell space fleets and enslaved them. They are now bent on conquering Dravspace using their newly enslaved thralls. The elven fleets set out on a scorched earth campaign against the illithids and their slave forces. They force the illithids away from Dravspace before they get past the ice zone, but almost all the elven forces then leave Dravspace chasing the illithids. Since there is no fleet left to protect it, a magical shield is cast over the entire planet of Evendar, hiding its very existence from all but those who know the secret of how to penetrate it.

90,000 BtC
Dravellothor goes into the Abyss to destroy a part of the illithid empire. When the gith revolted, the plane spanning illithid empire broke into countless smaller empires. Now, a remnant empire in the Abyss was making a deal with a second illithid empire, the one that was currently battling the elves of Evendar. The Abyssal empire agreed to supply the Evendar elves' foes with an endless supply of demons for their war, in return for possession of the planet Drav after the elves there were defeated. Dravellothor learned of this, and attacked the Abyssal illithid empire to foil their plan. He did not return, however. Later, legends sprang up that he was killed by the humans in the war to come, but the truth is that he was gone, in another plane of existence attacking illithids, and completely unaware of the human invasion.

89,800 BtC
Following a massive fight in the Battlefield Systems, humans arive from space and begin to colonize Drav. Dragons on Drav are hunted mercilessly and the remaining elves are attacked in space. The planet Evendar is still hidden with the magical shield, so the humans never know it exists.

89,300 BtC
Human colonization of Drav is finished, and the dragons of Drav are all in hiding or dead.

87,000 BtC
The elven fleet outside Dravspace, along with a force of dragons from the Dragon's Heart star systems, attacks the illithid system eater in what is now Deathspace and destroys it. The elves then begin to isolate and exterminate or trap the remaining illithids in the head of the Dragon Galaxy.

76,000 BtC
Portions of the elven fleets that had been away fighting the Illithid War begin to return. These ships are attacked by humans, increasing the numbers of skirmishes in space.

73,800 BtC
The main body of the elven fleet returns from the Illithid War. Evendar is unhidden and another fleet that the elves have been building since the arrival of the humans sails from it. The humano-elven war breaks out on a massive scale in space, and the tide turns against the humans.

73,800 BtC
During the massive magical burst that swept over Drav when the elves dropped the shield over Evendar, primitive giants like hill and mountain giants are first seen on Drav. It is said that they were created when the magics hit some of the humans, or that portals to other worlds were made and the giants wandered through them. No one knows for sure. Evil magics are also released that warp some of the humans into hobgoblins and some of the new giants into ogres.

73,100 BtC
The Great Cataclysm occurs. The elves attack the planet with massively destructive magics learned during the Illithid War, that are meant to rip the planet to shreds. The planet survives the first attack. From the flames of the magics, Dravellothor arises, returned from the abyss, accompanied by a huge army of dragons that had went with him him on his hunt. Dravellothor turns the tide of the humano-draco war and keeps the elves from attacking a second time and completely destroying the planet. The dragons use their magic stabilize the planet enough that it does not come apart. A massive amount of life was also destroyed, but the dragon spells save enough of it to help the life on the planet recover later.

--------The Time of Persecution (73,100 BtC to 25,000 BtC)--------

The period is called "prehistory" to those ignorant of the history before the Time of Man, and is called "the time of persecution" by others who know of the Human Invasion and of history before the Time of Man.

At the beginning of this time period humans were split into three groups by the Great Cataclysm that ended the Humano-Draco war. One ended up on Ji Dao, the other in what is now the Orcish Wastes, and the third clung to existence in the Barbarian Wastes of Shetone. The kingdom in the Orcish Wastes, which at this time had no traces of Orcs living in it, at first tried to re-establish the society that was destroyed by the cataclysm. It suceeded for a time, but then was destroyed by the dragons. Thus began a pattern, in which the dragons mercilessly hunted the planet and destroyed any humans they found. During this time the Humans tried several times to re-establish kingdoms and city states, and even more ambitious ones tried to resurect the technology they used to have before the Cataclysm, but always the dragons found them and killed them.

During this time the dragons were still weak because of the devastation the humans had caused to them. Several dragon mages experimented with the creation of other, smaller races to hunt out the humans where they hid, deep in the forests and wildernesses of Drav. They did this for reasons similar to the reasons humans bred small dogs like terriers to hunt rats in their rat holes. The mages who experimented with these new races were mainly Mallorei, but members of other dragon families were involved as well, especially the Ferrackarls and to a lesser degree Gemals. Some races, such as common lizard men, were brought to Drav from other worlds during this time, and 'seeded' on the planet, and other races such as erickras and minotaurs were magically created on Drav during this time.

Major Events

73,100-70,200 BtC
Land constantly shifts and changes from the after affects of the Great Cataclysm. Ice sheets miles thick spread as the shifting slows down, encasing the landmasses of the planet in an ice age. The few remaining humans are gradually forced into a primitive state, constantly wandering in what sages call the Dysporia.

70,200 BtC
'Twisting of Brahadtma.' A large segment of humanity has gathered on the Brahadtma Peninsula and they try to rebuild their society. The dragons cast a collective spell that brings all the random radiations and magics from the war together over the Brahadtma Peninsula, roasting the humans or twisting them into deformed mutants. Energy focused there melts and twists the land around it, and energy put off by the twisting thaws portions of the southern hemisphere. The northern hemipshere and pockets of the southern hemisphere remain in the ice age.

70,000-67,000 BtC
Humans who had survived in Ji Dao slowly spread from Ji Dao and Kenjada into the Sea of Dragons, then onto Alorakia. They make colonies in Alorakia, mixing with some of the Acarians where their colonies meet the Acarian lands. Human city-states, kingdoms and nations slowly form in Alorakia and Ji Dao and Kenjada. Map of Drav During the Time of Acaria (at 67,000 BtC).

70,000 BtC
Empire of Mir is founded by refugees from the Great Cataclysm. It is located in a land named Wendeckia, and is the only place where human civilization from before the twisting still flourishes and memories of the times before the dragon wars are recorded in a non-verbal format. It lasts 700 years.

69,300 BtC
The Empire of Mir is destroyed by dragon flights attacking it.

69,200 BtC
The first settlements in Acaria are founded by wandering refugees from Wendeckia. This area grows into an agricultural civilization that exists as a collection scattered villages for thousands of years (appx. 5,000 years), until the Nameless Dynasty organizes it into a fuedal kingdom.

67,000-65,000 BtC
Dragons fly on the Ji Doan, Kenjadan and mixed Ji Daon-Acarian colonies, scattering the survivors or driving them further into hiding. The dragons attack any humans they can find who are more advanced than a savage, animal-like nature anywhere in Ji Dao, Kenjada, or the Sea of Dragons. The primitive agricultural, pure Acarian lands to the east of the Alorakian colonies are attacked, but only lightly.

64,000 BtC
The Nameless Dynasty arises in the eastern lands where the Ji Daons never mixed with the Acarians. It lasts about 500 years.

63,500 BtC
The land of Acaria falls under a curse, and is never heard from again. All who go there never return.

62,000 BtC
A black comet falls from the sky. It is called the "Black Star" by the primitive sentient races that live in the area. It explodes in the air, falling to the ground as pitch black dust and debris. The core of the object makes it to the ground intact, and creates a crater that later becomes the Black Lakes in the northern part of central Shetone. The impact temporarily melts the icy lands around the crater and causes weather disruptions over the planet. However, the majority of the climate changes it would have caused are stopped because its disruptive energies are blocked and broken apart by the elemental mountains of Drav or sucked into the area of the Brahadtma Peninsula by the magics that exist in that land. The ice sheets reform and cover the crater over the next few hundred years, and it is hidden until the ice age ends thousands of years later. As the ice melts the Black Lakes form in the crater.

62,000-61,000 BtC
Tears and weak spots are made in the fabric of reality by the impact of the Black Star and the magics that absorbed the damage the impact should have caused. Giants like ice giants and fire giants come to Drav through the tears, coming from other planes of existence. A thousand years after the tears form, they seal back up naturally.

62,000-51,000 BtC
Giants come to Drav through portals from other planes of existence. They build several large giant kingdoms that spread from what is now Craidana to what is now Sybia and Thrazaya. Smaller kingdoms ruled by creatures like ogres, trolls, minotaurs and the animal-headed creatures that are popular in the Sothian (Egyptian) religion spread out between the giant kingdoms. Many of the animal-headed creatures and the minotaurs were created by giants who will later become known as desert giants. They captured humans and altered them. Whether they invented these races or were just copying races they saw on other worlds and planets is unclear. The giant kingdoms reach their peak at around 56,000 BtC. After that they slowly start to decline as constant warfare and changes brought about by the melting ice sheets take their toll.

55,000-35,000 BtC
Ice sheets that had spread down from the Barbarian Wastes all the way to the Straights of Scardan and the lands that would later become Aryiadravo slowly melt as the enchantments that contained the Great Cataclysm stabilize. Savage, barbarian humans who had survived in the far northern wastes begin to thrive at the edges of the ice as it receeds up and creates the Sea of Craidana. The barbarians start to populate the lands on both sides of the sea. They live primitive lifestyles, following and hunting herds or raiding each other.

35,000-13,000 BtC
The barbarians spread through the lands along the Sea of Craidana and the Zeutharian Sea. Some spread into the central highlands east of Craidana, near the Black Lakes, where they learn to tame horses and become the first horse riding tribes. Others start to make small agricultural villages near large rivers and on the fertile land where those rivers meet the ocean and create deltas.

34,000 BtC
Some tribes in the Northern Barbarian Straights begin making sea-worthy boats that can travel over the ocean for long distances, and start living exclusively by raiding from the sea. They raid the coasts and large rivers that meet the sea. The settlers along the coasts and rivers are under constant attack from the raiders.

34,000-13,000 BtC
The raider boats slowly evolve, and at the same time fortifications of stuborn barbarian tribes who refuse to move from the sea or rivers despite the constant attacks evolve. The ships advance and the fortifications and technology of the farming villages advance hand in hand, each in relation to the other. Over the next tens of thousands of years conflict between the raiders and coastal farmers is the main driving force behind the advancement of these cultures, though pressure from wild land-based raiders is a factor, too. The farming people who advance all the way to city states, about twenty thousand years later, are the ones that will eventually call themselves Craidanans.

27,000-21,000 BtC
Nations that are a mixture of dwarves and humans living together form in Craidana. This starts in the lands that are now Ironvale and slowly spreads to cover both sides of the Sea of Craidana. The mixture of dwarves and humans lives in highlands, mountains and rough hills, and not in the lowlands and coastal areas. Their people rarely mix with the people in the villages and tribes of those areas, and most of the lowland people are very superstitious of "the mountain people". The dwarves tend to live below the lands of these nations and the humans live on the surface or near it. The two races live and work together, and both races treat each other as equals. After several thousand years the nations break apart into seperate human and dwarven tribes and nations that live seperately from each other, but the core in Ironvale, where it all started, remains. Map of the Lands the Human-Dwarf Nations Were In (27,000-21,000 BtC).

27,000 BtC
Some of the sea raiding barbarian tribes colonize the Straights of Scardan, following coastal tribes who have moved this far south. Land barbarians already live here, but the sea barbarians flourish and soon become well established in the rugged lands of Scardavia.

--------The Ancient Period (25,000 BtC to 2,000 BtC)--------

This time is called "the ancient period" and during this period several grandiose human cultures developed in the lands that surround the Sea of Dragons, but they were all put to fiery ends by the dragons.

The first was a mysterious culture that flourished in a land that is now the desert wasteland of northwestern Kenjada. Not much is known about this culture, except that it built many huge pyramids and momuments that still exist, buried in the sands, and that it worshipped many beings with the heads of animals such as jackals and cobras. It is believed that this culture lasted thousands of years, but was wiped out by dragons when it became too powerful and drew their wrath.

Next came the Sharan culture. It spread over the Black Cape, Cyckpaz and much of Arzonia. Like the culture from northwestern Kenjada, not much is known about this culture. Ruins from this culture are common on the islands of the Arzonian Archipellago, and many of the ruins that lie burried beneath the Black Desert were converted into vampire tombs and cities by Shamanthark the Shade and his minions in recent years. Legends say that the Black Cape was not a desert when the Sharan culture flourished, but some great catastrophe occured. It is whispered that this disaster created the desert of pitch black sand, obsidian mountians, numerous other types of black, glassy rock, and the twisting, tortourous spires and maze-like channels that now make up the Black Desert and the Black Cape.

The next major culture was the Ji Daon culture. This was really a group of very similar cultures that all served a group of dragons they called 'the Celestial Heiarchy.' The humans of the continent of Ji Dao had struck a bargain with a group of feral dragons, also called Metarls. These dragons began to evolve a certain way as they meshed with humanity, and eventually became a distinct family named the Shukarlakirain, or Shukarls. The humans made these dagons their leaders, in return for not being hunted. They offered gold and sacrifices to them, and served them in return for peace. After a time of stability the humans began rebuilding technologies that they remembered but had kept hidden during the time of persecution, and they learned great magics from the dragons who led them.

The Ferrackarls were not associated with the Shukarls, however, and felt that the dragons who had formed an alliance with the humans were traitors. But they tolerated them and did not attack the humans or dragons of Ji Dao for some time. The Shukarls became proud, and eventually felt that they were mightier than the Ferrackarls. They eventually assembled an army and flew upon Dravellothor's home, in an attempt to destroy him and the Ferrackarls and make themselves the mightiest dragons on Drav. Thus a civil war among the dragons broke out, ending the ancient period. The Ferrackarls won, razed the human empires that served the Shukarls, and made the Shukarls swear fealty to them.

The Shukarls were not completely wiped out, however, and are still worshipped and thrive in certain regions of Ji Dao and Thrazaya. The humans of Ji Dao were also scattered during the war as they fled the Ferrackarl attacks, and some ended up in places such as Aryiadravo, Sybia, and Thrazaya, where the great magics learned and shaped during the Golden Age of Ji Dao survived, hidden and carefully gaurded. Several secondary civilizatons sprung up in Aryiadravo and Sybia, and some of them still exist today. The culture established in Thrazaya then also survived, and now flourishes and is home to many Nutarl, Shigarl and Shukarl dragons, in addition to the humans and other races.

Major Events

25,000 BtC
Ji Daoan city-states begin to form again. Dragons have flourishied throughout the Sea of Dragons, Kenjada and Ji Dao since the dragon flights of 67,000-65,000 BtC destroyed human culture. Since that time constant predation by dragons has kept human populations in those areas low. But over time, the primitive humans have learned to fend off single dragons, and forgotten that flights of thousands of dragons ever existed. The humans who can defend their tribes from individual dragons begin to esbablish city-states now.

21,000-19,000 BtC
An advanced empire flourished in Northern Kenjada, called Nubaria. They built many pyramids and enormous momuments, but were destroyed at the beginning of the First Ji Daon Diaspora, when the dragons flew on them and destroyed them.

19,000-18,700 BtC
A series of dragon flights on Ji Dao triggers what is known to the sages as the First Ji Doan Diaspora. The dragon attacks began with the destruction of the Nubarian Empire, but then the dragon flights spread out and systematically attacked all the humans they could find in Ji Dao, Kenjada and the Sea of Dragons. This was actually the second time the dragons systematically destroyed humans in these areas, but the first time was lost to the knowledge of humans and had never been given a name by human sages. However, the first dragon flights drove all the remnants of humanity to a primitive, hunter-gatherer level. This time, humans who know magic and humans with more advanced knowledge survive the dragon flights and are scattered to other lands.

19,000-18,700 BtC
Groups of magic-obsessed Kenjadans and Ji Daons fled from the dragon flights through the straights that would later become Shara and across the Blood Sea, and all the way to the land of Thrazaya, making them the first humans to settle that land. Some also settle in northern Zeterog, but the strange nature of that land makes most humans move elsewhere. Others did not flee as far and settled in what would later become Shara, and others fled to the lands that are now Aryiadravo, becoming the first humans to live in those lands, too. Some tried to settle in Entraxis, as well, but were either enslaved or driven out by the Mallorei Dragons that already lived there. Small bands of humans had already spread onto the islands in the Sea of Dragons and parts of Edanake in the tens of thousands of years since the Twisting of Brahadtma, but they were tiny, very primitive groups. With the First Diaspora more arrived. Due to the large number of dragons living on the islands, none of the people there prospered or rose above a tribal level.

15,000-12,731 BtC
A new advanced civilization, often called Shara, raises and flourishes in the lands that are now the Black Desert, the Arzonian Archipellago, and modern day Cyckpaz. The Sharan civilization was created by the same knowledge cults that created the Nubarian Empire. The Sharan civilization made colonies in Aryiadravo, Sybia, the Al Athra Sea, the Central Blood Sea, Threnkantakas and Khandockathrax. Map of Drav During the Time of Shara (at 12,900 BtC).

14,900-14,700 BtC
Two to five Sharan colonies are established in Aryiadravo (the exact number of colonies has been lost and is not known).

14,800 BtC
The Sharan colony of Sothia in Sybia is established.

14,700 BtC
The cities that will later form into Anam are established as trading cities between Sothia and Thrazaya.

14,000 BtC
Groups of horse riding tribesmen from the central highlands begin to migrate into Sybia and Aryidravo, and begin mixing with the Ji Doans and Sharans who are already there. Some of the Sybians and Aryiadravans then migrate west into the central plains, as well, mixing with the horse riders further.

12,800 BtC
Because of pressure from Scardavian barbarian raiders, the Adarian people of southern Craidana evolve enough to form the first Adarian city-states.

12,800-10,200 BtC
Warlords unite the Adarian city-states several times, though the resulting nations or empires never last longer than a few hundred years at the most.

12,731 BtC
Dragons make the decision to fly and destroy Shara, and a civil war breaks out among the dragons of Entraxis because of this decision. The civil war is short and lasts less than a month.

12,731 BtC
The pyramids of Shara explode before the dragon flights can ramp up, completely devastating the Sharan civilization and creating the Black Cape and Black Desert. The central parts of Entraxis also sink below the sea. Most of the Sharan civilization is destroyed in an instant, and the Sharan colonies are also destroyed or knocked back to a primitive state. A huge tidal wave is created that destroys the landmasses in the Al Athra Sea and the Central Blood Sea where some of the Sharan colonies are.

12,731-12,500 BtC
The dragon flights begin anyway, attacking what is left of Shara and its colonies. The dragon flights and destruction of Shara began what is called the Second Ji Daon Diaspora or the Sharan Diaspora by human sages.

12,400 BtC
Giants conquer and enslave humans in Sybia and Aryiadravo. Under their leadership, Sothia recovers from the dragon flights and destruction of Shara, and begins to conquer the lands around it. Anam also recovers, and challenges Sothia. Thousands of years of warring between the giant-ruled nations begin.

12,400-9,100 BtC
The Giant nations in Sybia and Aryiadravo constantly war with each other. The giants are ravenous, often feasting on the humans they kill in battle to satisify their unending hunger.

10,200-9,800 BtC
The largest Adarian Empire forms in southern Craidana. This nation is called "The First Nation of the Grandfathers". This title becomes the source of the terms "grandfather empires" and "grandfather cultures".

10,000-8,000 BtC
The first Deusahn and Garthian city-states start to form. They call themselves "Craidanans", because most of them live along the Sea of Craidana. The Adarians trade with the Deushans and Garths, and this trade fuels the growth of the city-states. The Adarians start to call themselves Craidanans, too, even though they do not live along that sea.

9,100 BtC
A curse strikes the giants of Sybia and Aryiadravo, and they cease to rule over the enslaved humans. The human lands continue on their own now. Sothia and Anam become the two most powerful of the human lands, but are constantly fighting with each other.

7,500-5,500 BtC
The Kelar people break away from the Garths and become a new type of culture. Legends say that they met the fey, especially the elves, and mixed to a degree with them, creating a new culture. This is true. The Kelars introduce the Keltic religion to Craidana. It was taught to them by the fey.

5,000 BtC
The relationship that evolves into the four Ji Daon kingdoms of Tar Ya Lo begins to form, and the human-dragon relationship that created the Shukarls, or Celestial Beaurocracy, begins.

5,000-4,000 BtC
The Adarian people begin to split into the Aflaricans and Shemaronans as Ji Doan migrants mix with the southern Adarian people and change their culture.

3,670 BtC
The first united Aflarican Empire forms. A chain of united or semi-united Aflarican Empires have existed since.

3,500 BtC
Golden age of the Ji Daon Empire (Tar Ya Lo) begins

3,000-2,600 BtC
Deushan tribes sail to the coasts of what will later become Belaria in several waves, where they establish new Deushan city-states. These Deushans eventually partially mix with the Kelars, who already live in the area, and the mixture creates the land and culture known as Belaria.

2,900-2,700 BtC
Oriental-Ferrous Dragon War, scattering of the Ji Daon peoples.

2,729 BtC
The largest united Aflarican Empire reaches its largest size. The time called the "Golden Age of Aflarica" or "Kaxa Aflarionix" begins.

2,137 BtC
The Golden Age of Aflarica ends. Hundreds of years of war with the Shemaronan city-states takes its toll, and the empire breaks into smaller opposing Aflarican nations. As the golden age passes, snake cults and worship of Aseth (Set) begins to grow and flourish in Aflarica.

--------The Modern Period (2,000 BtC to current time)--------

The last human time period is the current one, and is often called the "time of warriors." It officially began with the historic meeting at the Isle of Wyrm several centuries after the defeat of Ji Dao and the Shukarls, and the decline of the Ji Daon Golden Age. At this meeting the dragons gathered and officially formed the concept of 'The Council of Wyrm.' This is a type of loose organization among dragons, and a protocol agreed upon among all the clans for meeting and discussing issues that affect dragonkind.

At the first meeting of the council, the representatives of all the dragon clans on Drav decided that it was not necessary to completely exterminate humans as long as they could be controlled. Humans had proven hard to completely exterminate, but easy to control and subjugate. As a result, a new strategy was formed and agreed upon by the majority of the dragons of Drav (though there were then, and still are, many dissenters among the dragons who still hate and hunt humans, and this is encouraged because it keeps the human population down).

After the meeting at the Isle of Wyrm the Shukarls were allowed to continue to rule the peoples of Ji Dao who followed them, as long as the Shukarls swore loyalty to the Council and swore never to rebel against the other dragon families or to try to rule them. Other dragons, too, such as the Shigarls, who had traditionally been the allies of demi-humans and who did not trust humans, were now officially allowed to interact with humans without fear of being attacked by other dragon clans for doing so. The Ferrackarls were grudgingly recognized as the most powerfull dragon family on the planet, and given official authority to mediate between the other families. This made them the de facto rulers of the planet, and Dravellothor the supreme leader of the planet.

A rough peace with humans came of this, though no humans attended or even knew of the meeting until much later. What was decided here allowed human civilization to start to grow again, monitored closely by shapechanging dragons and later a network of druids, rangers, and bards that the dragons now allowed to form unmolested. This planetwide network of humans was dedicated to the preservation of nature and the balance of things, and because of this it was perfect for the dragon's purposes. Certain dragons, mainly Shigarls and to a lesser degree certain species of Ferrackarls, shaped this network's formation and encouraged it, in order to use it as their eyes and ears over the planet. With this, the dragon's strategy of dealing with the humans changed from one of extermination to one of division and playing the humans against each other and all the other sentient beings of the planet.

Major Events

2,000 BtC
The Draconic Council has a historic meeting at the Isle of Wyrm, called by Dravellethor. Dravellethor has seen that a world-spanning druidic religion is beginning to form among humans. Humans had been introduced to the druidic (Keltic) religion by fey creatures about five thousand years earlier, and since then the human version of this religion and human druidic circles had been slowly forming and evolving. The dragons decide to take control of the druidic circles and help the religion grow, so they can use it to control humanity and any other sentient races that may become future threats to dragonkind or dragonkind's interests. Some of the dragons argue against this, and argue for direct control of humans. They want to rule over them as masters, with no one in the middle. The majority of dragons at the meeting prefer the druidic plan. As far as they are concerned, humans are either sources of food or treasure, are a huge danger if they are allowed to breed and become too populous, and nothing more. Day-to-day contact with humans is demeaning or unnecessary. The shukarl dragon family had also already directly ruled humans in this way almost a thousand years earlier and a huge war was the result. The shukarl (oriental) dragons decided they were the most powerful dragon family, and tried to take control of the planet. This memory is still fresh among the dragons at the council meeting. Eventually, since the other dragons knew the ones who wanted direct rule would try do it anyway, it was allowed - but only on a small, controlled scale, with dominance of the druids being the main plan. The dragons who wanted direct control were told they could do it only in Alorakia. They were also told that if they tried to do it anywhere else their human fiefdoms would be destroyed and they themselves would be killed by dragon flights.

1,900-900 BtC
City-states, kingdoms and nations slowly form in Alorakia. They are founded by shigarl, ferrackarl, gemal, chromarl and feral dragons who want to study humans and re-create the arrangement that the shukarl dragons had with humans before the Oriental-Ferrous Dragon War. Shukarl dragons are forbidden from taking part in this experiment. The lands that gradually form are called "the Dragon Lands". Humans were taken from Shetone and other human lands and brought or guided to Alorakia by the participating dragons. At first the dragons stay with their humans, leading them and sometimes being worshipped by them. They consider their humans to be either slaves or servants, depending on whether the dragon is evil or not. Over time, however, most of the dragons become bored of this arrangement and withdraw from the human societies that evolve. The humans of the Dragon Lands still pay tribute to the dragons who founded their various city-states, kingdoms and nations. This is mainly gold, gems, precious metals and food (human or other). The dragons live apart from the societies and have little to do with them on a day to day basis. An organization called "The Order of the Dragon" forms in most places that directly serves the dragons, collects their tribute and communicats the wishes of the dragons to the lords and rulers of the various Dragon Lands. Members of this order are given the title "Voice of the Dragon".

1,009 BtC
Aflarica is united together again under the church of Aseth. It is not as large or strong as it was before, nor does it have one emperor, but is united by the religion. All Aflarican kings and leaders must swear loyalty to the powerful priests of Aseth or die. Aflarica becomes a theocracy.

1,000 BtC
Advanced lizardmen from other worlds make colonies in the Vessanoran Jungles. They begin to worship dragons they find there, and are allowed to remain as long as they continue worshipping their dragon patrons. However, their colonies are destroyed if they try to permanently expand beyond the Vessanore Druvahn.

971-897 BtC
The first united Shemaronan Empire is founded by Sharg the Hairy. After he dies his heir is quickly deposed by a new dynasty, but the united empire lasts for 74 years before it breaks apart into two parts. Before this time, Shemarone was always divided into several city-states that feuded with each other but united together against any non-Shemaronan. This first united empire is known as the Empire of Sharg.

900-700 BtC
A circle of shadow druids casts powerful enchantments over the dragons who rule the Dragon Lands in Alorakia, using a magical artifact given to them by the the Druidic Lords of Death. The dragons either forget they are dragons and stay in a shapeshifted form or go into a long hibernation. The shadow druids were resentful of being dominated by dragons and resentful of being cut out of the loop in the lands where dragons ruled directly. They wanted to make the other dragons from outside the Dragon Lands fly on the Dragon Lands and destroy them. After the Alorakian dragons were taken care of, the shadow druids put into place schemes to make humans no longer beleive in the existence of dragons, so they would become proud and make nations the outside dragons would fear and attack. At the same time, the shadow druids started rumors among the outside dragons that the humans of Alorakia had done something terrible to the Alorakian dragons, but it was blamed on a conspiracy among the Order of the Dragon and the human kings and lords. This had the effect of making the outside dragons wait to investigate what had happened, instead of immediately organizing dragon flights to destroy the lands. The outside dragons became paranoid, and spent the next several hundred years trying to find out what had happened before attacking, so it would not happen to them, too.

701 BtC
The Drake War begins. Wrath recieves the artifacts of dragon control in a vision he recieves from Archydemos. He uses the artifacts to assemble an army of dragons that are under his control, and in a massive battle with his new army he slays Dravellothor. Wrath's dragon army is destroyed in the battle, however.

673-366 BtC
Wrath emerges with a new army of young drakes to replace the army he lost battling Dravellothor. Without Dravellothor to stop him, war among dragons breaks out throughout Edanake. Drake establishes a fragmented empire that spans Alorakia and the Southern Sea of Dragons, though war rages throughout this empire the entire three hundred years it exists. Wrath's army of young drakes can never completely defeat the armies of Dravellothor, and Dravellothor's leaderless army can never completely defeat Wrath. The war shifts and moves constantly throughout Alorakia, never ceasing. Through magic, Wrath makes himself live indefinitely, so he does not die of old age and keeps the war raging.
